Frida, rain and empty benches

Hi everybody!

Another day here gone with the wind, this is indeed a strange summer!

Today I have another Frida Journal page, made with the same drawing I used for red-hot Frida last week. This time I superimposed the drawing over a page from her diary before colouring with  oil pastels, water-colour pencils, gel pens and a white highlighter. For the earrings I used my metal foil again. I spread tacky glue onto the ear-rings, rubbed the foil over it and got a nice, metallic bronze shimmer on them.
I am linking to Art Journal Journey, Frida,  and Simon's Monday Challenge, anything goes

I had a wet and windy walk through our little town today, and there was not much going on.  This is the door of the basilica, and I am always hoping I will one day see it when it is open - they always use the side door.

The horses stood under the trees:

Our flower shop is always beautifully decorated:

This seems to be one of the newer boats, but there were not many passengers today.

The Rhine is deep and wide just now, but it doesn't seem to worry the swans and ducks:

I love to sit on this bench next to the anchor, but today it was too wet....

And just today there were enough benches to choose from:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Great photos as always, I especially like the photo of the benches in the rain, it makes me feel at home and that's a terrific photo of the door.

Lots of great photographs even if the weather wasn't too good. Sad to see all the empty seats but they do make a great picture and take us around the corner -great composition.

What a great view you must have from the bench next to the anchor--I spotted in another photograph up on high

    Have a great day

  18. I like the painting and all the photographs – especially the one with the horses under the trees. It must be nice to live near a large river like the Rhine, here we are close to mountains.

Love your walking pics. The flowers there at the one front entrance are gorgeous. The horse know to step out of the rain. Such an intelligent animal.

  23. Between you and Susi I am having a time keeping up with your marvelous Frida creations!
Your writing on Frida and those fab foil earrings are again brilliant!
Aren't you lucky to have such lovely surroundings...that flower shop and so much more that you share with us are delightful!
I am a big fan of arches so those basilica doors really speak to me...I can almost smell incense coming out of the cracks.
    OK time for breakfast here
