Flowers and birds

Hi everybody!

We had another day of sunshine and warmth today, and the rest of the week should be really hot, with a few little showers and storms in between to cool us down!

This is another of the cards I made for my DT work at Gecko Galz.
I used floral symphony 'hydrangea dreams' as BG paper, and matted it with some coordinating turquoise cardstock. The image from Vintage for me 664.1 has been printed onto canvas - which almost gives the impression of embroidery - and matted with green mirri-card and turquoise cardstock. I added some white rick-rack brad, blue roses and a dark green bow as embellishments. This card was also quick and easy to make.
(Material list: 6" card blank, cardstock and mirri-card for matting, BG paper and image, embellishments)

I saw lots of flowers again on my walk today, it looks more like summer than spring.

The lawns were covered in these little star flowers - does anyone know what they are called? I found them so pretty.

And the  'toddler' goslings are nearly adults:

I saw the thistle on my way home by the wayside, it was nearly as tall as I am!

Have a great day, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by - your visits and comments are always much appreciated!

  16. Fantastic idea printing the image on a canvas type material. It is perfect for the image you selected because it makes it appear more vintage. Very beautiful indeed. Love the flower photos. Awe spring, such a glorious time.

  24. The first thing I thought of when I saw your pretty card is that looks just like petit point. I think that is the way you spell it. And oh yes - those little white star flowers? They are called little white star flowers. I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist it. As always - you have used gorgeous colors.
