Paper Saturday

Hi you all!
Today I am sharing a piece I made as one of my Guest-DT jobs at Gecko Galz.
Here I have recycled a large matchbox. I cut the sleeve open through the middle, folded the 'wings' right and left, and fixed the drawer in place. I painted it all with black acrylic paint, sprinkled with a little fairy dust. The images in the background and wings are from the Gecko Galz Collage sheet 'Witchy women'- For the roof I die cut a Sizzix spooky house from some spidery paper and mounted it behind the box. The little book has been made from  some vintage book pages, cut to size and sewn into the black cover. The potion jars at the front have been fussy cut from DCWV 'Fairy Stack' paper. The hair round the skull is NOT mine! The bat is a Sizzix die-cut, the cat was cut for me by Diane. I had fun playing with these witchy 'sistahs'.

I am linking to Manon's Paper Saturdays.

Have a great weekend, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. Hi Valerie, I'm doing catch up after a busy couple of days. How is your hand. Dear me, that must have been sore. Love your spooky sisters - you wouldn't by any chance be getting a teeny bit excited about hallowe'en would you! Lol. TAKE CARE!! Xx

  7. You've possibly outdone yourself here, I am sitting in total admiration. All the details are just marvellous, it is just such an excellent whole piece. I do especially like the book of spells, the cat with the green eyes, the sistahs, and you didn't mention the pumpkin so I'll give it a shout. I like the bat too......

  9. It's hard to believe this is made from a large matchbox, it's so packed with drawings and cutouts, just marvellous. You have so much patience and originality. I particularly like the central panel, the pretty witch behind the potion jars, and the clever way you have wound hair around the skull. Very spooky. I'm going to hide with the curtains drawn on Hallowe'en.

    1. Ghosts and ghouls get in even when the curtains are drawn - you can run, but you can't hide!

  23. So spooky and so well done. But one has to wonder and worry about the hair wrapped around the skull. If not yours than whose? Is there a curse wandering around amongst us?
