Double Tuesday

Hi everybody!
Double Tuesday means it's time for a tag at Tag Tuesday, and the start of a new challenge over at
The theme is 'going dotty' -dots and circles. You have 2 weeks time to join us in going dotty!
I made a journal page, and it really did almost drive me dotty, so I had to do it bit by bit over several days. I used some templates to draw the figures, which I left white, and then just drew the little circles all around them. Then I thought of bubbles, so I coloured some of them with prismalos, and added the sentiment.
I am also linking to AJJ - less is more.

At Tag Tuesday our theme is  'Egypt'. I cut a triangular tag from corrugated card, which I distressed and painted with acrylic in black with some touches of blue, and added some fairy dust while the paint was still wet. I chose Bastet as the subject of my tag.She was a cat-goddess in old Egypt, and is sometimes portrayed as a women with a cat head. She was associated with war, and the sun, but also was regarded as goddess of women, fertility. music  and dance, and had to guard the sun by night so that the mice didn't steal it! I have put my tag in front of a statue of Bastet, and added the sacred Ibis, wearing the double crown.

That's all for today, take care, have fun and thanks for coming by!

  4. LOVELY how you used the theme, gorgeous result! I was just looking for details on the stamp you've used: then saw you drew it yourself, I now understand why you had to spread it doing it over several days!

  11. That's a super dotty page, very original, yes, quite a lot of dots you have drawn there.
Your triangular cat card is also superb, I like your painted corrugated "pyramid" and the cat guardian. You have mentioned fairy dust several times now and I wonder if this is your own invention?

  14. Your journal page is wonderful Valerie. Although you might not have meant this but I could not help but laugh when I read the sentiment. It's like a cat chasing it's tail! Speaking of cats - four thumbs up for your tag. So many ancient Egyptian symbols. I imagine that is King Tut but he is also in the shape of a scarab. Of course the obvious with your pyramids. I did not remember about the cat but I do remember seeing some hieroglyphics of women with cat heads. Then your tag reminds me of the beautiful color lapis lazuli one of Egypt's favorite jewel colors I think. I have always wanted to go to Egypt but that is beyond the pale now. I do not have a favorite make as they are worlds apart. But both are very special.

  15. I was so happy to have had a chance to visit Egypt & the pyramids at Giza--actually just months before all the trouble started there. You did a beautiful job with Bastet, and such a creative background, too. I love the way the girl figure appears to be blowing her umbrella away!
