An owl, a hedgehog, some geese and more....

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well - time is flying by

here as always.

For Paint Party Friday I have a large (A2) mixed media collage

made last week at art group. I did lots of collage, stamping, doodling, painting, stenciling and sewing, and it was fun to make!

I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, you've got the edge, as I have lots of edges here which were all worked over differently.

And I have another tag for Chrissie's lovely 'fave colours' challenge

at Tag Tuesday - the soft pinks and creams of full blown roses

always touch my heart:

And I got a good bargain from the discounter Lidl this week. Their

special offers included some sewing sets, and so I bought 2 sets of sewing threads for  4,99 each, and now I have enough thread to keep me happily sewing for months. The first set also includes gold, silver and transparent threads,

as well as various colours of elastic. The reels in the second set each have 500

meters, that's an enormous amount.

And today an owl post arrived, almost like in Harry Potter. My dear friend

Chrissie sent me one of her hand-knitted owls, I have called him Ollie,

and Freddie the Hedgie,(also from Chrissie) who has been living here for a couple of years, was really happy to get a companion. They got together

straight away and are now inseparable. And Chrissie is offering one of her 

lovely owls as a prize this time at Tag Tuesday....Just saying!

And these lovely gifts were also in the parcel. Thanks Chrissie,

your kindness made my day!

And last but not least some photos. It didn't rain today,

and the sun came out:

Down at the Rhine the Egyptian geese had settled

in for the day. The heron was really disgusted, and after

a short but loud cuss out the heron took off and the geese stayed

as conquerors of the beach:

This n that again

Hi Everybody!

I have enjoyed sitting on my balcony watching the rain pour down,

listening to the lovely sound of the wind and rain

on the leaves of the trees, and it was so refreshing

and relaxing, just the thing after so many hot, summer days.

For Go Tag Thursday, flags or bunting, I made a tag using 2 of the
little Union Flag tags that Donna recently sent me. I collaged a paper
napkin onto an 8" tag and sewed it onto a piece of recycled
black calendar. In case you're wondering, 'ONDO' is London without the
first and last letters - they didn't fit! Or perhaps they sold off
The L and the N to pay for the Brexit....
I let the little flag tags fly as
embellishments:

This is the other set of mixed media ATCs I made for 

Elizabeth's TSFT. One is

already en Route to the States, one will soon be on its way, and one 

is staying with me. The background was painted, the cups were stamped first to create a shadow, and then stamped and fussy cut from white

card before being mounted on the ATCs. The 'text' was stamped

with my typewriter-key alphas and glazed with

liquid glass:

Yesterday evening, shortly before dusk, I spotted this very 

dishevelled magpie sitting right at the top of the tree in

the field. I zoomed it in and got some photos of

its evening feather-care-time:

Looks like a punk here:

More bales of hay have appeared in the field:

 The roses in my kingdom Queendom of Balconia will be

blooming soon:

I love this variegated clover I bought this year - the bees love it, too!

Hi Everybody!

I made a chunky tag  made from wood which Sandie sent me 

some time back. Aqua and white, accompanied by some glitter,

is one of my fave summer colour combos.

I  painted the tag with gesso, pressed the molded

rose into the wet paint, and gave it a coat of hologram

varnish when it was dry. The feathers were also coloured

with some peacock feather distress oxide ink.

At Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday some of us did an

ATC swap last week for the fourth anniversary. I made this

set of 4 ATCs with a holder for Bleubeard and Elizabeth, and

as it has already arrived I can show it now. I used lots of sewing

again. And I would like to welcome all of the nice ladies of

the T gang:

I baked a nut and vanilla cream cake at the weekend, and

there's plenty for everybody, so grab your forks

On Saturday evening the farmer baled the hay on the field

behind the house, I took these photos from my balcony. It was

fun to watch!
