Hi Everybody!

It is really freezing here again, I soooo hope that spring soon comes

back and stays with us.

For my tag at Tag Tuesday, with the theme 'go rural', I decided on a sheep die cut, which has been flying around in my bit box for years, and the morose Farmer, who appears in Shaun the sheep. The background was made from recycled scrap card, which was gessoed, inked and painted. The tree was embossed with a TH texture fade folder and then inked. I mounted the tag on a second tag made from peeled and painted cardboard to give a rustic look. The fence is a TH die cut, and has been distressed, painted and embossed. I mounted it with foam squares and curved it slightly.

This huge raven was sitting on my balcony yesterday morning and took off , screeching loudly, when I dared to open the balcony door. Scary!

The pigeons are not my faves, although they are very pretty. They love to trample my flowers flat and eat EVERY crumb they find, and no matter how often I tell them to bog off, they fly once round the trees and come back to attempt to find more food....

The jay is nearly as greedy, but not so destructive or messy!

Tuesday this and that

Hi Everybody!

Here the week started cold, wet and windy, with icy rain, and some places they even had snow - I hope spring will soon come back!

Today we are starting a new challenge at TIOT - vintage photo.
Projects of all formats are allowed, and as always, you have 2 weeks to link up to us.

I once again used the lovely photo of Erika as a child, and placed her in a TH glass and metal frame. The background of the tag is part of a master board made some time back. This is one of the last pieces, so I have started on a new one. I placed the tag on a recycled and party peeled cardboard tag, which was painted with gesso. As embellishments I used some recycled flowers, lace and grass and a real leaf.

Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so a big welcome to all the T gang. The photo here shows the house of John Wesley in London, now a museum. He was the founder of the Methodist Church. There seems to be tea and coffee and something to eat for everybody:

But my drink is, as always, cappuccino....

For Art Journal Journey, for the record, I made a hybrid piece, using a wonderful galaxy photo as background.  I heard this song on the radio yesterday, and was straightaway inspired. 'There's a kind of hush all over the world' was sung by Herman's Hermits in 1967, and by the Carpenters in 1976

Dream....

Recently I showed this photo from the work on the stairs by the Rhine:

The smaller stairs at the right are meant as a ramp for wheeling up prams and/or bikes:

And I showed this photo of the trees being cut down in the square by the Basilica. Apparently they were full of some sort of pests which were destroying them:

On the day after the stumps were removed and also the roots etc:

It's spring, spring, spring

Hi Everybody!

Just a short post this time, today ran away too quickly!

This is  a  spread in my new journal, with a 'spring' theme. This was not originally intended for a challenge, but it reminded me of the 'Spring, spring, spring' song in the film 'Seven brides for seven brothers', which was shown back in 1954. I made a mixed media piece with my two spring chickens who have evidently fallen totally  in love with each other.
