Thursday Post- TAD / Surrealism

Hi Everybody!

Rain's theme today is surrealism - Surrealism was a cultural movement which developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I and was largely influenced by Dada. The movement is best known for its visual artworks and writings and the juxtaposition of distant realities to activate the unconscious mind through the imagery.

Some of the most famous artists of this movement are Breton, Dali, Ernst, Magritte, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Miró and many others- You can see their works in many galleries and museums. Today I am sharing some of my 'knock-offs' again and a few of my 'originals'

Pablo Picasso:
I tried a few variations of this:

Joan Miró:

Kandinski (actually more of an expressionist, but I like him)

This is a self portrait, it's scary enough to be surrealistic:

Another idea of mine:

Marc Chagall:

Pablo Picasso:

My interpretation of surrealism using photos of Picasso:

A surrealist version of van Gogh with the sower walking outside the picture:

René Margritte:

A strange piece from me:

A variation of Margritte again:

Some of mine again:

A surrealist photo of me:

And some of my surrealist heads - there's always something going on inside my head:

Congratulations, you have reached the end!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Midweek Post

Hi Everybody!

This week the Lifebook Taster Sessions have started, so I'm keeping myself busy watching videos, printing out instructions, and getting started on the first pieces. I have to take things very slowly just now, as I have so little energy, but I'm planning on watching everything, making screen shots and notes, and then I can work on the lessons bit by bit as I can. I started off with Cinnamon Cooney, the Art Sherpa, who showed us how to make a colourful cow. It looked very easy as she made it, but it wasn't! And we were allowed to paint outside the lines - great! My paper buckled a bit, so I need to flatten it. I did my best and this was the result:

And I had fun making it, and that's the main thing!

I love to take the tram to Nord Park and walk through it and the lovely Japanese garden there:

This is my fave statue there:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
