Umbrellas, witchy stuff and blue skies

Hi everybody!

It's Friday already, where did the week go?
Yesterday started off dripping wet and misty, but by the time I was ready to go out, the wind had blown the rain clouds away, and although it was cold, we had a wonderful blue sky for hours.

This journal page started life as another smear and smudge page. I added some stamping using Ryn's beautiful water-drops, stamped with stormy skies and clear embossed. I kept to a limited colour scheme, just adding some wild honey and spiced marmalade sprays.  Mary Poppins (Lost Coast Designs) was stamped with archival black and embossed with black EP extra fine. I cut Mr UM from some black scrap paper and stamped him with a script which I white embossed so he matched Mary. I fussy cut MP, and glued both figures so that they could fly together - love at first flight! Just a bit of nonsense, but sometimes I seem to need things like this!
I am linking to Paint Party Friday,  Art Journal Journey, living beings, and Simon's Monday Challenge, use stamps and stencils.

This card is one of my DT pieces for Gecko Galz this month. I used BG paper from the coven paper pack, and stamped it with the cobweb, skeletons and bats from TH. I stamped first onto old newspaper, so that the images are faint and seem to fade into the background. The witch was stamped likewise, so she seems to be almost transparent. The moon face and bird are from the cross promotion with Rhonda's originals. The black cat was cut from cardstock and glazed with higloss varnish. The spiders and bat were from my stash. I mounted it onto blood-red card as matting, and used a 6" white card blank.

This is the matching envelope:

The sky varied in colour today from violet over turquoise to pale blue, just wonderful. I couldn't see enough of it.

Here's hoping that the sun shines for you, too.
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by.

  26. Oh I love the Mary Poppins artwork. Reminds me so much of the constant drip and drizzle when I lived in the UK. Here is the US we get ferocious, tremendous storms that would wreck any umbrella. Happy PPF

  27. Two more terrific art projects. I love the water drops you add; they appear so real. Your card for Gecko Galz is wonderful in the way you created the background and the faces, especially on the blackbird. Your moon faces, like the one with the bat for mustache, make me laugh. Have a cool, fall weekend.

  41. I really like the drops of water on the Mary Poppins artwork. I also think your skies are superb. It finally got down to the 70s F (25 C) here in Georgia with little humidity and the air conditioning unit did not even come on today – what a relief from the heat.
