Young Love

Hi everybody!

It's Wednesday already, this week is flying by again.
This is one of the cards i made for my DT samples at Gecko Galz.
There is a cross promotion this month using digital papers and images from Basic Grey, together with GG products. And the 2 for 1 action is still going till the end of the month. You also still have time to enter the Valentine Challenge with great prizes.

For this card I used an image from the 'Young Love' Collage Sheet.

The image has been printed onto Matte  photo paper, and varnished with crackle glaze. I matted it with red card, black card and grey miri-board. The backing paper from Basic Grey has also been matted with grey miri-board and mounted onto a 6" card blank in red. I added a bow, and 2 hearts as embellishments.

Material List:
Image from Young Love
card blank
Background paper BG truelove PP1-3
Scraps of card and miri board for matting
spotted ribbon,
hearts
crackle glaze

Today the weather here was wonderful. There was frost on the fields when I got up, but the sun was shining, and I very much enjoyed my walk, although the wind was still very biting. I love this photo of the ducks, with the reflections of the sun and sky in the water.

This is the bridge over the moat from the other side, with the lion gazing into the park.

This is one of the three bridges over the moat leading into the inside court.

The light at the Rhine was wonderful, creating sharply defined shadows.

And my shadow went out with me again today. I'm afraid my shadow is a good weather walker, and only appears when the sun is shining. Here it is, waving at you. My shadow and I walked 14500 steps today.

This is the path along the Barbarossa Wall, one of the old fortified walls and banks around the town. The slope on the side leads down to what used to be the moat, and a place I love to walk through.

Have a great day you all, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by.

  8. Like others I love the crackle over the photo, it has given your beautiful card that very antiqued appeal. The light was stunning again over the Rhine, beautiful contrasts in the light and shadows. xx

  10. Beautiful card Valerie--love the image you used.

Great photographs and it seems like all this walking is making your shadows legs grow longer and longer. It rained all day here and we went for a short walk when it was dark :(

Have a great day and hope the sun shines again for you

  13. I really like the way you set off the main picture in your cards with other papers and cards, it makes such a difference and can often be difficult to get right.
I especially like your picture of the ducks, the architectural photograph and your shadow waving to us, very amusing. Wave, wave back.

  19. Oh my Valerie - you are soooo tall! Several of your pictures show the most beautiful colors.
Do you see the gold above the ducks!!! Love your Valentine Sugar - that image is so sweet and I really like what you do with it. Live very old paintings found in a home lost forgotten.
    Sandy xx
