Hi everybody! Another week has gone, a new year has started, and as it's Friday, it's time for our Paint Party, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin.
I tried to make a collage on a piece of canvas. It was gessoed, stamped, painted, inked and collaged with everything I had in reach- old book pages, flowers, images of this and that, and lots of stamped faces,clocks, and eyes. And when it was finished, I didn't like it. It was just tooooooo much - too busy, too confused, just too everything. I have spent most of the week making postcards, and then I had the brilliant idea to chop it up and make six cards out of it. I should have taken a picture of it as a whole, but the scissors were quicker than my brain. I mounted each piece onto a 6x4 card, and used different designer papers for the backs, which were stamped with the requisite postcard template.
It turned out to be a fun experiment, and now I have 6 postcards that I like....

What a good idea! I may try this when making some aceos! Sometimes it is easier for me to make one big composition...and I never thought of cutting it up into the correct size!

6 for 1 can't be bad Valerie and they sure are six very beautiful postcards all with lots of interest. What a lot of work you must have put into the larger piece.

Your collages are wonderful. Sometimes when I do a watercolor that just "does not happen", I will cut it into smaller pieces and make them into greetings cards.
